Had a quick look, there seems to be no background defined in the files
you privided. If you add a background, or sky_sphere, it will hava an
ambient value of 1. This mean, with a radiosity scene it is as if the
whole background radiates light. A way to overcome this is to ad a plane
behind your scene or put a sphere with texture around it. On these you
can control the ambient value. all that provided I understand your
question right.

Ahummm, this is not a group where binaries shoud be posted. Please check
povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions for some posting guidance.

Also, when you have questions regarding a scene, please reduce the file
(s) to a minimum size. The amount of stuff in the files you attache is
rather overwhelming.

well I use the file "radiosity3.pov" as my reference file, and as far as I
can find out no background is defined there, thats what I don't get. Cause
when I do exactly the same in my scene I get a blank (black) background. And
what I also find strange is that when I reduce the radius of the sphere in
the "radiosity3.pov" file a clear border line between sphere and groundplate
is visuable (hard line) well doing the same in my scene results in a very
blurry one (looks ok, but why it happens is not clear to me).

When using the sky_sphere there the scene looks the way I would like it to
be (so no background visuable exacte the sky_sphere) but that really has
negative effect on my scene as it become really hard to distinct between the
different object. There seems to be less contract using sky_sphere instead
of sphere.

anyway one general remark: hope to be of assistance in the future for other
newbies, really had no idea that povray was so powerfull, although the
textual interface is quit strange for a GUI-man :)

That scene uses a large sphere for the sky. You will always get a
visible line at the horizon in such a scene unless the sky and the
ground plane have the same color. The radius of the sphere will not
change that. Note that in this sample scene the sky and the ground do
in fact have the same color at the horizon if the light source is turned
off.

I was aware of your information, but for some reason it doesn't wants to
work in my file, maybe you could have a look at this prointscreen (an image
may clearify it a bit more) and tell me whats happening: Why do I see these
radiosity lines on my floor caused from the sphere,

thx

Concerning this i can only say that your sky probably does not surround
the scene, the upper part of the image would not be black then. Apart
from that an error_bound of 0.02 combined with count 50 will never lead
to smooth results.

the low res was just for a quick rendering, but even with a count of 500 it
is still noticable. But when I make my sphere 50000000 radius , it still
shows the black background. Would camera clipping help (if thats available)
