Pov-Ray's included documentation and the online wiki both state that clock_delta
defaults to 1.0 when not running animation (i.e., during a typical static scene
render.) Actually, it defaults to 0.0. This is confirmed in scene use and with
#debug.
This behavior seems correct, too--it 'matches' the behavior of CLOCK in the same
circumstance.

Thanks. Actually, using the more 'proper' newsgroup posting area didn't occur to
me (!)--thanks for the tip; it's what I should have been using all along, with
these postings.

It should keep all these things together and save Jim from hunting for
reports.
There are a lot of groups here some hidden from the web view. Did you
know that there are two sub groups of OT?
povray.off-topic.haskel-vs-c++.flame.flame.flame
and
povray.off-topic.fan.haskell.bork.bork.bork (I had to look up bork).

Hmm, I don't think I visited that page (and I see that the clock_delta default
there is correct!)

A while ago the reference content was copied from the Documentation
namespace to the Reference namespace. The old stuff just hasn't been
cleaned up yet ... part of a poorly executed plan i'm sorry to say,
however if you look at:
http://wiki.povray.org/content/Documentation:Contents#POV-Ray_Reference
that will send you to the /correct/ location.

Unfortunately yes.
You need to subscribe to them with a newsgroup reader.
IIRC Warp set them up for Andrew/Invisible.
