Because in CSS1 it was specified correctly and in CSS2 it was changed which
in effect breaks the thing. As the Mozilla developers failed to notice this
problem with the standard Mozilla is broken.

Don't turn my words around. I expect it to behave such that it works
flawlessly if i give it flawless input. What it does not is produce broken
output when receiving flawless input. By definition, this is called "bug".

Oh, I know, but that does not change my point that the change in the CSS2
spec was done without considering what it implies. The specification in
CSS1 was correct and would function properly. The specification in CSS2 is
flawed and consequently everybody who implements the flaw produces a buggy
program.

Which is just another major flaw in the specification. For human generated
languages it is a major flaw to define something as undefined. While it is
fine from a software engineering perspective, it is the worst solution from
a end-user perspective. The web is for all users, not just software
engineers. Thus the specification is flawed.

Either you are unable to understand, or it is somehow impossible for you
to admit that you're wrong. :-(

So discussing this further does't make any sense.

I am neither wrong nor do I not understand the problem. I know exactly what
is wrong in Mozilla. You are simply not understanding what is important
when designing software for more people than yourself, and neither do the
Mozilla developers.

On page http://www.povray.org/documentation/view/305/#s09 (9 POV-Ray Questions
and Tips) there is a sentence "... please check out the current version on the
internet" where "current version" is a link to
http://www.povray.org/search/redirect?vfaq but this returns 404 afaik. The
same appear for the same part of documentation boundled in 3.5 package.

(is this thread already longest ?)

Unfortunatelly '100 most active threads in the last 7 days in all groups'
shows only 75 postst while there was much more. Anyway still far to longest
one.

Yes, 75 posts in the last seven days precisely as it say (77 with this one).
If you view the thread you find that there are 126 posts in it.

Feature request this time.

I have an idea to add small section on every page at www.povray.org called :
"Do you know ..." (similiar to the tip in WinPOV GUI) with some various hints,
tips&tricks, links to most interesting posts with technics or tutorials, links
to famous artists. It could use cookie similiar to image of Hall Of Fame to
prevent repeating of tips. It could be short (ten words) placed on
the right side of page below "persistence..." (as Moray link on main page). If
it would be overloading in pages creation it could be placed only on main page
as another section. Search could be also performed on those tips. Page for browsing
tips could be also designed. Tag members could have permissions to add/remove
entries to this knowledge base with links to the most interesting pages
or posts on news server. Some examples for content:

DO YOU KNOW ...
  You can use <a href="http://www.povray.org/search/redirect?layered">layered</a>
  textures in POV-Ray?

DO YOU KNOW ...
  How to make nice <a
href="http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/23574/164926/testclouds9.jpg">
clouds</a> only with pigments? Check <a
href="http://news.povray.org/3cb18295%241%40news.povray.org"source</a>.

DO YOU KNOW ...
You can browse <a href="http://www.irtc.org">IRTC<a> archives with
  <a href="http://www.aussie.org/products/">CD-ROMS</a>

DO YOU KNOW ...
  What is <a href="http://tag.povray.org/">TAG</a>?

DO YOU KNOW ...
You can meet POV Community at <a href="news:\\news.povray.org">news server</a>
  (also with <a href="http:\\news.povray.org">www view</a>)

Any comments ?
