It was very interesting. Very impressive how different the reactions are. I
expected an emotionless short answer. At least that is what I would do. Why
should I get into a bad mood just because of a posting?
However, some of the asnwers were kept calm which is always a good thing.

I am pleased to have amused you.

You shouldn't use blanks in ASCII graphics since it really looks weird at my
site due to a proportional font :)

So the failure is always on client side? Not really a "customer-oriented"
thinking, is it? :) <I know that I'm not your customer>

One could also say that the graphics wasn't tested enough and failed in
usage?

Umm, no. It is commonly accepted that ascii art requires a non-proportional
font. Otherwise it will frequently fail, spaces or not.

Think about it.

Yep, that's what I meant. But it is not the "customers" fault if the
delivered thing doesn't work, except the user got it on it's own action. The
ASCII thing was sent to me (well, at least as an answer directed to me). So
the sender has to take care that it will work. Well, a bit a stressed
comparison .-)

See above.

You are too full of it and I am amazed that many have taken your posts
seriously. Your posts amount to an insult to povray developers.

Oh, not at all! I always made clear that I am absolutely aware of PoVs
quality and the effort developing it!
A really excellent job.

I also would buy PoV if necessary. As mentioned also.
But there already 3 threads about pricing. I hope this doesn't start another
one :)

regards
SY

BTW: cool e-mail domain! Very nice open cluster.

No one of the developers had ever mentioned anything about pricing. So what
is the point of this topic? We know they are doing an excellent job. But
why the talk of pricing? I thought that your post amounted to an insult
because you thought there was some hidden agenda to the expiring beta. When
in reality, the developers want to make sure that users do not start asking
questions and reporting bugs based on old betas that are still running. An
expiring beta does away with this problem.
As for the domain name :) Yes I know. It is my own domain :o) Pleiades is
my favourite group of stars. Although I do not own the actual cluster :) I
am lucky to own the pleaides.net domain :)

Let's see what the ASCII art FAQ says:

"To view (and draw) ASCII art, you must use a fixed-width font."

Simple. Further, this is a newsgroup. You are using non-standard
settings in your newsreader. Don't obey Microsoft blindly, they
didn't invent the newsgroups, you know.
