Saying stuff like this should be illegal.

Well, how can you beta-test a program without using it?-)

That's fine, just don't tell us.

Actually, it's good to hear it's at a beta testing stage. :)

Pre-beta, actually. The beta-testing stage will be public and will happen
when 3.5 is a whole and complete pack.

More to the point, how can you develop a program without using it?

I've certainly known programmers like that.

When I was a junior programmer (long time ago) I once worked under a
senior programmer who had a habit of slapping in a couple of final bug
fixes at the end of "final testing" just before the software was due to
be shipped to the customer. On a couple of occasions this resulted in
the customers receiving software that was completely non-functional.

I use regular POV-RAY for two reasons:

 (1) There is no Amiga MEGA-POV so to be able to move pov stuff
between windows and Amiga without a hassle, I use only
the Official version of POV-Ray when on windows.
 (2) I suspect strongly that most Mega POV .pov code will break
in Official POV-Ray 3.5. Betcha the syntax for isosurfaces is
different between 3.5 and mega pov.

The syntax hasn't changed significantly, but not 100% of MegaPov isosurfaces
will work without proper modifications in 3.5.
For example (IIRC), sqr(a) has been changed to a^2 and sqr() is not
supported (the ^2 is automatically optimized so that it does the same as
sqr(a) in MegaPov).
