I've lived next to the ocean nearly my entire life. The novelty has
pretty much worn off.

With the world at your finger tips you needs someone to do it for you ?

Generally I hate to travel, but this would be the one thing that would get my
interest. I'd do it almost anywhere if travel was cheap, or I'd pay more for
a new experience.

I have lived my whole live near the ocean and I wouldn't want it any
other way.

Having arranged some of these sorts of events, I know that having
someone on hand is -much- better than trying to do it by phone or email. You
have -got- to see the rooms and you -must- check out the service. You need
experience with the roads and surroundings. You should plan some activities
and to do that you should know the area. Not pictures on the web or maps
from mapquest.

We could do relays, with one or two hours blends between time zones.
BWT, which time zones are concerned ? All ?

Even if it were just a "news.povray.convention" I think we would hit
most time zones...

Surely there is some method in place (with convention hosts) to cover the
touchy issues. We will have to get a commitment from some minimum number
(though I'm guessing), but this is done often enough that I am sure there is
a satisfactory method available.

Else, we make Gail the Treasurer (we become a railroad club). :)

How about somewhere neutral ? i.e. some where that everyone has to
travel some distance to - Iceland, maybe ?
I just think that 'a USA location' has been chosen merely for the fact
that the people that suggested having a convention happen to live in
America...

There was a UK convention a couple of years ago and I don't recall anyone
suggesting an alternate location at that time. Why should Americans act
any differently ?
