Rusty made his first advent into the world in the October 1998 animation
round of the IRTC.

Happy Birthday, Rusty!

John

Maybe Rosie can make him a cake and try to patch up the relationship ; )

Happy B-Day Rusty. He doesn't look a day older, either.

Actually Rusty has forgiven that. More I will not say.

I was one of his harshest critics on about his second or so appearance. I
was a bit caught up in the competitiveness of the whole deal (probably still
am but from a new angle these days). Now I'm happy at least to be
entertained with a cute story line [although haven't yet viewed this round's
entry ;) ] . You have also mastered what i have yet to: making raytracing
that "actually looks" like someplace. I eschew painstaking realism for
realism's sake, but I suppose you should at least look like a photo of
something.

Happy Birthday Rusty!

Please John tell me how to consider Rusty's age. What is the average
lifespan he can achieve? Is he a baby, teenager, somewhere in the mid or
even grampa?
What would be the best gift? Oil? Battery? 8x2 Char Display? Maybe some
booze (but not if he's still minor!).

Alltogether now: For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's...

Karl

I reckon Rusty's birth as being the 15th of October, 1998; that was
the deadline for the first IRTC round in which he appeared.

As long as the rays will trace!

Obsolete.

Cash, payable to the bank that holds my mortgage.

Not that I want to be coy, but if I suggest that I'd like to do
a particular thing with Rusty, it might affect the topic selection
process, or worse, make it look as if the process had been tipped
in my favor. There are a couple of projects I'd like to do, but
I will only have time for them if they can fit into an IRTC topic.

Regards,
John

What Rusty desperately needs is a 1024x768 24-bit full color screen,
something like 16x12cm in size. With a GeForce2 display adapter. IMO.

Actually, he needs a render farm. Very badly. I recommend Duron 800
systems (most bang for the buck), running Linux.

John
