I don't think it's available publicly, you'd have to contact him personally,
and from what I heard last he's been out of raytracing for a while now.

I know the image you mean, this is the comment on the POV-Ray CD-ROM about
it "Amelia Amoeba Kinda strange, I admit. A face imagemapped onto a blob.
Not much more to say, except that it's kind of fun. -Image by Dan Farmer"

Philippe,

Wow! I am FLATTERED! Surely didn't expect to see my name here these
days, and most certainly didn't expect I'd still have "fans",
particularily in light of the superb images I've been seeing coming from
the current crop of users.

Anyway... I don't even have the source to that image anymore. Sorry.

Dan Farmer

Let me be the first to welcome you back. We will expect great things from
you, you know. :)

Good to see that not all of the "old" ones have disappeared! :-)

Heheh! Can't trap me THAT easily, Ron. Just visiting.
Actually, my main (computer-related) interest these days is with music.
Haven't even got POV-Ray on my computer. But I am thrilled to see all the
interest in these newsgroups.

Yes, you still have "fans" though most of us were under the impression
that you had joined a monestary somewhere never to be seen again. Glad
you took the time to stop by and say hi.

Lurking, eh? Is Truman with you <g>? Always nice to hear from you,
Dan. As you've seen, POV-Ray is alive and thriving.

Drop us a line if you ever get a music page written. We'll be glad to
take a look at your latest happenings.

Hey, look who's back! :D

Of course you still have fans, it was your work that inspired so many to try
their hand at POV-Ray in the first place! Ah, I remember the good old days
(well, OK, only say five or six years ago really ;) when I sent my very
first email, and guess who it was to :)

Nice to see your page is still online, it still has some of the most
innovative
and imaginative work around :)

Best wishes,

Lance

No Truman here. I've run into links to his web pages a few times, but haven't
heard from him since I went into hiding.

I can certainly see that work WITH POV-Ray is alive and thriving... but what's
going on with development? I've seen the very impressive MegaPOV and other
spinoffs, but what's happening with the "real one"? (Probably stuff you can't
speak about here, but development IS still ongoing, right?)

PS to all: The email address posted with this is my email at work. Please, no
private email at this address.

Yes, it's stuff we can't speak about here, and yes, it is still ongoing.
There have been some hints dropped here and there lately. The only official
document is the "Plans for 1999 and beyond" document that should still be
in povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions. As a Team Member Emeritus,
you can probably contact Chris Cason if you really want to know more.
