The 'she' confused me as well.

Both ship and program are masculine in french.

In Spanish, I think that things like ships, depending on the type, can be
both masculine and femenine (barco, barca). Computers can be either
masculine or femenine (computador, computadora, ordenador). Programs are
femenine (programa).

No Seaman would ever consider a ship different from female. It's her.
This has nothing to do with the grammatical gender of the nouns. :-)

  This can be pretty complicated when translating texts which relies strongly
