Look at:

http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Ginza/6625/soft10.html

Unfortunately, the .lzh you grab from there has problems in Winzip, so I
posted a .zip version to p.b.u a couple of days ago.

There is no help file (not in English, anyway, and I speak zero Japanese)
but it's easy enough to figure out how to do what you want, and the
tooltips help.

ddombrow, it *does* have an OpenGL preview like sPatch, at least on my
system. :)

What else... Well, other than the fact that it can be a bit awkward to
initially get used to after using sPatch, nothing much. In fact it seems
a hell of a lot more accomplished generally than sPatch did.

Please note, I'm not badmouthing sPatch, it's just that sPatch did what
it did, and not much more.

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

Damn! Beaten by 17 minutes while I was replying to email <grin>

Well, that'll teach me to try and take on the link-meister at his own
game :)

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

Hey wow, you're right, the function's just not as obvious as sPatch's. Not
only that, you can edit the patch in realtime with the preview active. Very
cool. Okay, so one last issue I have with this program: I'm not really good
at modelling and I usually have to undo alot to keep myself from messing up
the model too badly. I was disappointed that sPatch didn't have a multiple
undo but hamapatch's undo function doesn't seem to be working for me at all.
Have I missed this too, or is it something I have to wait for?

I found it, it was right in front of me the whole time...
Each window has a menu, click "Show" and then "Surface".
Then Click "Light" and "Enable Light(for preview)"

I like how the menu on the right works like Moray the way it
scrolls up and down. It supports Megapov 0.4 and motion blur
too. Nifty. Plus you can get more screen real-estate by right clicking
and selecting "Window" --> "Full Screen".
The one thing that's bugging me is that the "undo" doesn't seem to work
right(which in my case is a big problem).

Ya' I'd like to see multiple levels of undo with a selection menu,
so it's easy to skip to the one you want...

...That's weird. If you put a shortcut on the desktop it takes the ini
file with it and then won't let you select a shape. I guess I'll just
leave
it in it's folder.

Why not infinite undos?

AFAIK, Undo doesn't work at all...

The usual reason is the amount of memory then infinite undos would take.
Since you have to store the changes at each undo.

A case in point is in Photoshop, where it is possible to slow the program
to a crawl by not clearing out your History regularly enough when working
on a complex image...

But I digress.

Yes, Multiple level undo would be a very nice addition to Hamapatch. But
whether or not it will get done is another question altogether.

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

I've found a few other things that need attention before I trade in
sPatch. "Save" doesn't seem to be working, and I had a weird thing
happen to my box when I rotated, it stayed sort of 2D.
I'll certainly be keeping my eye on updates though.
