The usual reason is the amount of memory then infinite undos would take.
Since you have to store the changes at each undo.
A case in point is in Photoshop, where it is possible to slow the program
to a crawl by not clearing out your History regularly enough when working
on a complex image...
But I digress.
Yes, Multiple level undo would be a very nice addition to Hamapatch. But
whether or not it will get done is another question altogether.
