We'll just max out the anti-aliasing, the radiosity, etc...

Well, a medievel artist who just happened to be passing by had
this to say, when I tried to explain raytracing...

"Well, yea, t'is most charmingly conceived, but, verily, i' sounds
a most unweildy tally of figures that need t'be summed that way.
T'wouldn't it be easier to just use a brush and paint what y'see?"

(I guess he was another one in favor of hand coding as opposed
to a modeller...)

Too late. :-)

Sounds just like "Forbidden Planet"

OK, I got heaps of replies to the comment that I made... I'm going to choose
to reply to this one because I think Josh is the one that saw what I was
getting at...

As my reply is too off topic for this discussion group, I've posted it at
the following address instead of littering this group with my thoughts of
ethics and morals.

For anyone that cares to hear what I have to say (you don't have to if you
don't want to), please see
http://members.xoom.com/_XOOM/lancebirch/violentsociety.html

From a far, I sign off.

I got a server down or not responding response from your posted link so I
presume that is your statement in part and in whole. A social commentary
in it's own right.

But at least now we know where nature gets it's processing power....

btw: about 3 weeks before seeing it (and without knowing the plotline) a
friend asked me what I thought 'full' VR would be like.... conversation
branches took us various places, we ended up discussing *exactly* the plot
of The Matrix (right down to the 'battery humans')

scary

Have Fun
