Just one question. Where else could I have gotted version 3.1d? I have
looked on www.povray.org, and it says the file to download is version 3.1a.

The Pov team has not officialy released it to the general public yet. It
is in it's final testing to make sure no new bugs made it in while others
were fixed. The copy on compuserve may be all right or you may have to
download again in a week if any chages are made. Your choice.

All of what I say is also unnofficial so take that for what it's worth.

So I like it. And hate the *@%/&! uninstaller. The installer said: there is
another version of 3.x here, we advise you to get rid of this. So I start
the uninstaller (aptly named "Unwise"), which uninstalled POV-Ray 3.1a. But
not only the files it installed, also all scene files I downloaded (into my
own directory POV-Ray\scenes\download) and images I created (in
POV-Ray\images). I've never seen an uninstaller before, which also
uninstalls things it never installed. I was really mad! Now I can collect
all downloads again and (if necessary), rerender all important pictures.
Grrrrr. I hope not all of my scenes are gone.

I have learned one thing:
All my POV-Ray related stuff (downloads, output, scenes) will *not* be in a
subdirectory of the POV-Ray installation anymore. I advise anyone to do the
same.

I've never seen it do this. It is only (supposed) to uninstall the things it
installed. Are you sure about this ? I've uninstalled POVWIN many, many times,
and it's always left detrius behind.

Hi, Ingo. The Official POV-Ray Home Page has also been updated to reflect
the availability of v3.1d for many platforms.
