For playing games. I also bought Tomb Raider 3. What a great game!
And NT is a LOT more expensive. 98 was expensive enough for me.

Hey Lance... I just bought a copy of Visual C++ 6.0 for school which
came with a copy of NT Workstation 4, if you want it, I'll send it to
you if you don't mind paying shipping. Just a thought, I'm sure not
going to use it.

Steve

I only like the Nevada and Antarctica levels, but it's a fun game
(prefered 2). It should run on Windows 2000 if that ever gets released.
;)

You'll find that NT users are really into Quake II, since that's one of
the few cool games that'll run on it.

I'm afraid you're perhaps not allowed to sell the NT4 just like that. I'd
recommend reading the MS license papers first. If you bought this for
school, you might have a special license (if it was at a special price, you
almost certainly have). If the license doesn't say anything against it,
you're propably OK. Just be careful with selling parts of packages like
these, you *could* get into (legal) trouble.

BTW this is not a flame, just serious advice.

Even if you don't sell it but give it away for free, you are most probably
in violation of the license agreement.

Johannes.

Amazing, isn't it? Try a stunt like that when you're the producer of,
say, a washing machine....

"No sir, you can not give your washing machine away."

This is a tad different. He obtained a product at a propably reduced price
for school. As a bonus, he also got NT4 Workstation. Now if he would sell
NT4 for the real price, this would be bad for Microsoft. So this is not like
selling a washing machine, but selling a free gift. It's like the free
samples retailers or doctors get from industry. They often contain a text
similar to: free sample, not for sale. Now just consider the free NT4 as a
"sample, not for sale". Then it makes sense. I don't particularly like some
of Microsoft's other sales practices, but this restriction is quite normal,
IMHO.

WOAH!!! he he he, that was funny, did you see the reaction to that
message??? WOW!!! Like sodium and oxygen! PHEW!

I guess NT would be nice (especially running MAX), but I do agree a little
with what everyone has been saying, it's probably in some breech
somewhere...

Thanks anyway :)

P.S. I'll email you ;-) he he he*

Lance.

Re price: It's only about $100 more bought with a system.

Re USB and PnP: makes sence. Also multi-monitor support, if it works
right.

Re 4 Xeon: That's my next machine! I'm serious -- 12 to 18 months I want a
quad PIII Xeon, I'm guessing 1200Mhz... where did you see quad boards?

Right now I have a dual P-Pro, and I'm planning to overclock it to 266, with
proper cooling and heat monitoring facilities. Upgrading to a dual PII-450
would require new RAM, new case, too and would not be that much of a speed
improvement. So I'll stick with periphials for another year, and only
things that can grow into the next system with me.
