In povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions Alan Kong mentions a
certain POV-Ray 3.1d. It's not on the site so it's not public yet, but
any ideas about it? I haven't heard anything about it in the groups
but then again, I no longer read all messages. Can anybody enlighted
me?

Peter

If you look at the announcement closely you sill see that is is
a bug fix version of v3.1. The list of corrected bugs is listed
and what effect they were having. I presume that once the users
at compuserve get through beta testing it it will be distributed
publicaly through usenet. Shouldn't be too long from now.

Oh, it is public, the DOS version as well as the source code is available in
the CompuServe POVRAY forum. The other platform versions are not avilable
yet. I suspect that Chris will update www.povray.org when the other platform
versions are available.

And if you go back a few day, it has been mentioned in this newsgroup, look
into the " Information about future povray versions..." thread.

This is putting it lightly!

The team is to be thanked and congratulated on such a comprehensive
fix...

Dan

P.S. I still find very compelling some of the features in some of the
3.1 patches ( Parker's SuperPatch and Kopp's "Patched POV"
but the list of bug fixes in 3.1d is of major significance!

You may rest assured that as soon as I get my grubby hands on a copy
of the source code that I'm allowed to redistribute, I'll be merging
it in. :)
