Anyone interested in a Pov desktop scheme?
What about having Pov graphics all over
the screen? icons, animated cursors, and
background image, screensavers, (, and
sounds?).
This is of course most interesting for
people who have Microsoft Plus!, although
other win 95/98 users can use many parts
of it too.
We need some ideas for a general theme.
It has to be simple (you can't see
details on a 32x32 icon) except the
background image. Also, does anybody know
a freeware or shareware program that
somehow creates screensavers?
Anyone interested in this project?

What would be more interesting is graphics for either Reveal or Litestep...
Reveal is _very_ configureable, but Litestep is far more common..
Litestep : http://www.litestep.net
Reveal : http://reveal.unpaved.net

I will not say that I think this is a silly plan, but if you need a screensaver
I'm sure there'll be plenty people here willing and able.
At least I am.

This is of course most interesting for people who have Enlightenment
or Window Maker or Afterstep. Unless of course it already exists
(which would not surprise me at all).

<wiseguy>
Well, I agree with you, but since I'm a win95'er, non pluzzed, I'd
prefer the Afterstep idea(The LiteStep clone for win, or any design for
Reveal...

Interested, just not sure of a collaborated effort on my part. I'm not
good with such things.
I've heard (watch the play on words hear) mention of something before
about having sounds in POV-Ray other than the *beep*; you know, for
other actions too.
Heck as long as disk thrashing is not one of them the POV-Theme for
Windows Desktop with sounds would be good. But I don't think anyone has
come up with anything or we may have heard (oops! again...). Hey, maybe
various ways people saying "pov" could make for a few wav files (willing
to bet that too was said). Okay, forget I said that.
Only thing I've done even similar to this is sketch out a GUI of
POV-Ray, just to play with the idea of a different look and feel to
using it. Kind of dreaming more like.
Enough said, a vote cast anyway: aye! Good idea.

Hello Rune!
I think you should install Linux and use the enlightenment window
manager WITH gtk themes support. Insiders know what I am talking about
:-)
Have a look at:
www.enlightenment.org
e.themes.org
gtk.themes.org
Then boot your Windows-box and start to cry. ( Or at least start to
rethink everything)
I know that this was not really an answer to your question, but what you
are dreaming about has already been done.
Bye.
Sven
