OK, as promised, here are the results from the POV-Survey I ran:
People that completed the survey: 75
No. Males: 72
No. Females: 3
Oldest person: 66
Youngest person: 15
Average age: 28.52
Male percent: 96
Female percent: 4
Youngest male: 15
Youngest female: 22
Oldest male: 66
Oldest female: 40
There we are, and WOW! I'm still amongst the youngest! (turning 16 in
March)
I was surprised by the number of females, but then again the survey isn't
very representative of all the POV-Ray users, because only a small percent
use this newsgroup (that's what I assume anyway...).
I will soon be posting a more comprehensive survey, stay tuned!!!

What ! No graphs ? Sheesh !
Statisticaly I don't feel your percentages will hold
up if the time period for the survey were longer, and
it's wise to remember that older folk will consider
such surveys pointless, old age dulls enthusiasm, and
might not feel obliged to fill it out. But it is
kinda interesting. The female respondant numbers support
my assertaions in my why aren't there more females out
there using the program thread.
The oldest female is my age. That's neat.

Well, actually Mr Tyler, you can still submit things to the survey, in fact,
I just got 5 new submitions, so when I post the new survey up, I'll include
any new ones as well.

Lance,
Glad to see you putting effort into the survey. I look forward to
future surveys.
Mike
P.S. Did you post your survey announcement in the
comp.graphics.raytracing??
Perhaps not, since it was geared for POV-Ray only.....(sigh)

Of course, I do not agree with the first statement....:)

Your post about this is pretty interesting. I am preparing some kind
of organized thoughts about that. And I will publish it in the thread right
after it is done - if my english improves a little-
>The oldest female is my age. That's neat.
Very proud to be the oldest female -mostly reading- this newsgroup.!

Hey, that's me! WooHoo I'm famous! You're 15 too? I don't turn
16 until August :-( I think the survey is a great idea and I'll be sure
to respond to the next one.

Sorry Mike, I don't have a USENET news server any more it seems. I've tried
for the last two weeks to connect to it but it seems it's been removed. I'm
going to ring my ISP about it soon. There new survey will be ready in a few
minutes...

Oh, good...
I could use a couple of youngsters to do my text input for me. These
arthritic fingers are a pain!
