I recently visited a site that offered a modified POV-Ray that allowed you
to texture objects using a UV method. My problem is I don't know where that
page is anymore.
Does anyone out there know what I'm talking about, and if so could you point
me in the right direction.

thanks

It's time for a meta-FAQ.....

in RE form :

Q: Raytracer (.*) has feature (.*)\. Can POV do this\?
A: The Ron Parker SuperPatch: http://twysted.net/PatchStation/
   or Van Sickle's macs.inc : http://www.erols.com/vansickl/macs.htm
   or MacroScope : http://twysted.net/macroscope/

Hi, Michael,

http://twysted.net/patchstation/suppatch.htm
http://www.nathan.kopp.com/patched.htm
http://www.public.usit.net/rsuzuki/e/povray/iso/index.html

Ron Parker's Superpatch for the Windows version of POV-Ray incorporates
much of both Nathan Kopp's uv_mapping code as well as Ryoichi Suzuki's
version (although I believe that Nathan worked on Mr. Suzuki's version, as
well). In addition, Superpatch boasts several other useful user-designed
patches, all in one executable.

Nathan has managed to retain the use of the newly re-designed POV-Ray for
Windows v3.1 internal editor when using his patched .exe and Ron Parker will
likely implement the same with his next release of Superpatch, but the
current beta uses the older editor from v3.02.

Please don't call it "The Ron Parker Superpatch". It's mostly other
people's work; I just stuck it all together. Sure, I can take credit
for some of the cool stuff, but not any of the _really_ cool stuff.

I think it is a viable expression. You did after all spend considerable
time compiling all the different features into one package. Anybody
else out there offering a patched version of Pov called Superpatch ?
And certainly your documentation gives credit where credit is due.

Accept the crown and wear it proudly King Ron.

Well all but one of the additions i made were the direct result of our
conversations on #povray, and the compliation of it is no tricky matter.

I agree. Without Ron's excellent work, all of this patchwork would
be substantially less useful. Credit was given where credit is due.

Of course, the authors of the more complicated patches deserve credit,
as well. But this doesn't diminish Ron's incredible contribution.
