This is a UV map mesh

I think you've succeeded! How long did it take to render?

3 minutes.
But the white lines are not supposed to be there. They are not in the
imagemap that is going with the mesh.

I think what Spock was saying was the image as it appeared was entirely
black - no white lines, not much of anything. ;-)

What is that image? The image_map you have mapped on our mesh or the
rendered image?
The histogram says that 100% pixels are 100% black.

There are. The top row of pixels is completely white.

Not in the image you posted. That one is 100% black, borders and all.

Yes, that's what I'm seeing too. Just black. Maybe the wrong image was
posted?

The image file "mathback.bmp" is corrupt,
that's what is causing the white lines. What
software was it created with? Here's a corrected
version.

What is it suposed to represent? All I see is perfect black.
By the way, please convert to JPG (lossy, up to 24 Bits per pixel), GIF
(non-lossy but colour limited to 256) or PNG (non-lossy and 1 to 48 bits per
pixel), much lighter.
