Thanks for all your positive comments on the previous version!
I was not quite satisfied with the transition between the path and the grass
though, so I experimented a bit more with that.
Now, at the expense of speed (a whole 5 minutes), I've added the option to
use grass maps. You can use any function to control the density of the
grass. Granted, the grass map used in this scene is a bit strange, but it
shows clearly what it can be used for. The function used for the grass map
here is a planar pattern function for the path multiplied with a noise3d
function for the random spots of grass.
Hope you like it!
Rune

I really like it, and I think now it's more realistic than before.
Great work, Rune.
I can't wait to see the code, but if you plan another improvement,
go ahead with the improvement.
See you.

Hi Rune,
i've been following your 'cheap' grass progress with interest, and I must
say it looks excellent. How about next turning your skills to 'cheap'
3d-look clouds ( or has this alreay been done)? Media skies are much too
slow for my PC.
All the best,
Andy Cocker

Now it looks like grass that's being blown in the wind, you
know the way the wind can catch the grass unevenly so that
some sections are blowing and others aren't.
Great work.
