Here's some more LOTW test images. I've added the atmosphere to the random
stream (sun light colour, sky colour etc). Still no textures on the
landform yet. Next I'll be adding clouds to the sky model.

The terrain randomnes seems great, giving very different reliefs, but
the crackle pattern seems to emerge very "pure" at some points. Also,
the sky on the first one looks a bit too violet for my taste...
Indeed, I hope to resume my LOTW this weekend and post the code. As
you suggested, sharing ideas we can have something like a terragenish
include some day.
Regards..

Outstanding... those are some really moody landscapes! Can't wait to see
what it looks like textured as well... (although the textureless forms
have a kind of "bleak" look to them which is also interesting...)

Hi Jaime,
yes, I still need to work on the crackle component. At the moment I'm
using the same turbulence settings for all the pattern types. I'll have to
code in a more complex turbulence function.
Hope to see you LOTW updates. The first set were fantastic. Very much
looking forward to the code.
When this is all over, and we have a stable set of high quality code, I
was toying with the idea of posting some images to the usenet news groups
and sites usch as "renderosity" titled "POVRAY is not a landscape
renderer. Is yours?".

Finally! Sorry for the delay sharing the code, but I messed with it
too much, and I had a hard time rewriting and commenting it a bit. I
posted the first version at p.b.s-f as "Tierra". There are also some
more test images at:

Don't be so bad: we all know that POV-Ray is not comparable with
anything: it's different... some times it's better, and the rest of the
time it's the best. ;)
