Here are 253 sunflowers.

Sunflower model by Nekar Xenos.
https://news.povray.org/47df76c4%241%40news.povray.org

Thanks to Michael R. Hobbs for the idea, and also to that reporter who
wished to remain "neutral," so he posted a photo of sunflowers under a
blue sky. Nothing political about that, right? ;)

Very nice! a little aperture depth of field may do wonders here also.

why 253? is it significant, a "hidden" message? ;-)

"Life is politics, you do it or it does you" (Bangambiki Habyarimana)

(love quotes :-))

It's from the triangle formula n * (n+1) / 2.

Each plant uses a horrendous amount of memory, so I only planted enough
to fit into the wedge visible to the camera. I estimated that about 25
rows (325 plants) would fit into memory, and then I saw the swap file
fill up, so I cut it back to 22 rows, which works out to 253 plants.

Totally agree.

ok. I downloaded the zip and was pleased how little "work" was required to get
3.8.0-alpha to render the scene. will bear the memory thing in mind.

Yes, even neglecting political actions is a political act. But I think
that is what Bangambiki Habyarimana had in mind. Never heard this name
so far and the German and even the Englisch Wikipedia has no entry for
this name.

I think we need a lot of blue and yellow images in the near future.

But to comment on the image: it is very nice, but the model by Nekar
Xenos is fine but not really suited for being used in the foreground
(may be this is the reason for the proposal to use focal blur by Mr).
The sunflower seeds are arranged in the mathematical correct positions
but have a wrong colour (green instead of brown) and the yellow petals
are hovering into the air and are not distributed evenly around the bloom.

I would really like to discuss such marginal issues more than a full
scale, completely needless war in the middle of Europe. To become political!

Best regards,
Michael

hi,

(sorry, missed this earlier)

agree but won't speculate what the author had in mind. I only knew the quote,
so, Google being my friend ;-), I found Mr H's name. (and like you, never heard
the name before)

too many of those -- too much of that -- already, anyway. personally would like
to see a .. proliferation of images that recall Earth-seen-from-space.

very much agree. my own interest in NX's code is (close to) non-existent[*], I
intend(ed) to keep it for perhaps an occasion like my recent "olympic" scene,
where I'd been looking for decorative plants/planting, but didn't find what I
was looking for.

[*] more files with _long_ lines. :-(

I agree, and stand behind the Blue and Yellow. These colors don't run.
The time for fiery, but mostly peaceful protests is over.

I think it's admirable that Ukraine is setting an example for the world to
follow.

One People coming together behind a strong spirit of Nationalism, to defend
their identity and borders against the incursion of foreign invaders. A strong
leader supplying the unorganized citizen militias with AK-47's, so individual
citizens can exercise their God-given Right to self defense and the preservation
of their sovereignty and national identity - with deadly force if necessary.
It's a War for Independence. A Revolutionary idea who's time is NOW.

Ukraine will be a shining example of how the common man can rise and stand up in
unison to defeat the corrupt influences of the Elite and their plans for global
homogenization. Putin is literally sentencing us to death by Climate Change
with his cheap Russian oil. Russian Man Bad! He has WMD's!

Hail Zelenskyy, and his anti-New World Order message of a strong "Ideya
Natsiyi"!

Gott mit uns! Azov Battalion! Ukraine uber alles!

Even Ive would agree. Ukraine WILL defeat the Russian Nazis.

I do not speak for the owner of this site, but let me say this:

Anyone who disagrees is a far-right Russian-sympathizing extremist, a Nazi, is
directly responsible for the deaths of countless innocent Ukrainian women and
children, and a traitor - because you are providing aid and comfort to the enemy
in the form of offensive (and probably illegal) free speech.

Misinformation, hate-speech, and propaganda will not be tolerated.

Doing so may very well get your account banned.

don't know about other people, but personally find it very reassuring, nay,
comforting, to know that nationalists of all flavours -- and let's not forget
that there are 193 UN-approved nation(alism)s, plus a number of dozen
non-affiliates, including "breakaway" and/or "autonomous" "regions" -- can all
unite behind one maxim: "Me first".

Today in the morning I found this statement from an other well known and
free 3d-project:

https://www.blender.org/press/the-war-in-ukraine/

and a blue and yellow image:

https://www.blendernation.com/2022/03/04/best-of-blender-artists-2022-09/#prettyPhoto/0/

Best regards
Michael
