Hi to the crowd,

as Windows 10 delivers us with unwanted images, most of them very nice
but only placed to gain information about the preferences of the users,
I was inspired by one of them, titeled "Wooden Footpath in Dense Jungle"

So I came up with the following idea, having had an old song by Bob
Marley in mind. It is still a WIP at the moment (some textures have to
be replaced and I think about some better trees in the foreground having
roots and being covered with ivy). But as a first impression this one
can serve.

Suggestions are very welcome.

Best regards
Michael

Very nice one. The best way to preserve vegetation for the future generations
:-)

Waiting for more; suggestion: the weight (5Mb) crashed my Thunderbird twice
while loading. Better to put a jpeg copy here.

Hi Michael, I really like this.
The composition is good and the contrast of the red dress with the
general lightness is effective. I like the sky, it is under stated and
goes well with the texture of the vegetation.
The wooden footpath bothers me, though. Too high and thick. The texture
shows a pattern looking into the depth.
But it looks like a future desktop wallpaper. :)

How much RAM do you have ? How many other applications running ?
Thunderbird V52.9.1 under Windows 7 (32 bits) and 2 Gb of RAM = No
problem loading.

Until recently I did not have any problems. However, since a couple of
months (I think since July) loading messages is a pain especially when
images of a certain size are involved.

Using Thunderbird v52.9.1 under Win7-64 bit 6 GB RAM.

Thank you Stephen, and yes the footpath needs some more work. Most
likely I will give Chris Hormann's isowood a try again. Looking at the
image after some days now, I think one more detailed tree to the right
should suffice to preserve the open area in the foreground. And I will
try to modify the concrete texture at the stems to gain a more bark like
structure. The only thing I'm not sure about at the moment, is to put
some kind of structure at the end of the footpath (two towers, menhirs
or something like that).

Best regards
Michael

Imho, You should leave the background open at the end of the footpath,
like now. Structures would distract the viewer unnecessarily.

I don’t know but I think it would be worth experimenting using standing
stones. It might add to the feyness of the scene. On the other hand it
might ruin it as you say. It might draw attention to the path and make
it the focus. I think it would be an option to consider.

If any structure is added, like standing stones, I'd place some distance
from the path and partially obscured by the trees.
