"In the neighbouring system, while approaching the scout group destination, an
alien experiment on a larger object was detected. That which has been here
before us, seems to have attempted to create an artificial atmosphere on a
planetoid, presumably for research or inhabiting purposes. The conditions may
have been different in the past, but for now it appears to be an arid world with
a decaying layer of nonendemic compounds and particles."

Have you investigated at the microscopic level? Life possibly exists
within the rocks and at some depth. The experiment may not be ended...
beware for unexpected contaminations of the scouts.

So far the scanners didn't pick up any further traces even on minor scale on
this one. However, the scout group skipped this rock and headed directly to a
planet on a closer orbit to the star. The group was never heard of ever since
they left the homeworld, so perhaps some answers about their destiny can be
found there. :O

"What at first appeared as a barren and high temperature wasteland, turned out
to be rather active inside afterall. As the scout group had landed on the
surface, a fungus-like lifeform had started to emerge from below the surface and
seek its way towards everything organic. As a following stage in their
experiments, that which was here before us seemed to have planted a synthetic
lifeform on this planet, most likely as a means to enrich the soil to activate
an emulation of their homeworld. However, the experiment seems to have got out
of control in a completely new environment, thus leaving no other choice but to
abandon this place as well. The scout group - while not knowing about what had
happened before them - had ended up here by accident in their search for new
resources. The only one to survive was the synthetic AI on the scout ship that
initiated an emergency liftoff and relocated itself on an other star system as a
safety measure."

*gulp*

All I know is that there's no such thing as human beings even existing in the
universe where this very journey is taking place. \o/ :D

Humans can exist in that universe, it's just that we are over 1000 light
years away, maybe even more than 10 000 000 000 000 light years away.
The Universe is HUGE after all...

There are no humans in this story of mine. At all. I like to play with the good
ol' wild thought about multiple universes, and this story happens in a one
without us. ;)

To add a bit just in case. This is, afterall, science fiction. Just a humble
little game project of mine. My creation, thus my decisions. ;)

I'm a man of science, and I'm also a big fan of sci-fi. Especially Star Trek
(TOS & TNG), Babylon 5, Farscape and Battlestar Galactica (orig. & remake). For
readings I've always liked a bit different stuff though, mainly H.P. Lovecraft
and Terry Pratchett.

Oh, and I like Monty Python too!

I'm also a rock musician, and in lyrics I'm drawn to very down-to-earth themes
of human life. But in literature, television and games, I've always been
fascinated by all kinds of wild visions, weird tales and dimensions of the
unknown.

This is where artistic freedom comes to play: to expand from what we thought to
be possible, to reach something distant and obscure, yet something that touches
us inside, tickles our imagination and grasps our feelings by the "mivonks". :D
