"What at first appeared as a barren and high temperature wasteland, turned out
to be rather active inside afterall. As the scout group had landed on the
surface, a fungus-like lifeform had started to emerge from below the surface and
seek its way towards everything organic. As a following stage in their
experiments, that which was here before us seemed to have planted a synthetic
lifeform on this planet, most likely as a means to enrich the soil to activate
an emulation of their homeworld. However, the experiment seems to have got out
of control in a completely new environment, thus leaving no other choice but to
abandon this place as well. The scout group - while not knowing about what had
happened before them - had ended up here by accident in their search for new
resources. The only one to survive was the synthetic AI on the scout ship that
initiated an emergency liftoff and relocated itself on an other star system as a
safety measure."
