I am learning Wings 3D and there seems to be a disconnect about textures...

Have you noticed that this not a forum about wings 3D? Although some of
the peoples who post here do use that application, it's not the best
place to ask question about wings...

This is true Alain but if Some_Yahoo (Not a great name in the UK) posts
the Pov code someone may be able to help her.

I'm new to Wings as well; but so far, I've had success: a texture made in Wings
v1.2 (or 'material' as Wings calls it) seems to export OK when I render the
scene in POV-Ray.

Perhaps you could describe your problem in more detail, i.e., the steps you're
using to set up the 'material', how you're exporting the scene, etc.

First of all Wings has default support for POV and I am primarily a POV
user. I used the standard "unfold" and texture methodology, exported
and edited the default texture, and reimported it.

Then when I render in POV it's all untextured like that.

I don't see a "don't use my 3 hours of texture work" setting anywhere.

Again, long-time POV user, new to Wings.

  Last time I used it, Wings3D export didn't include the uv maps. You can
try just changing the pigment on the exported texture to something like:

  pigment{
    uv_mapping
    image_map{your_texture_image_here}
  }

  For this and other reasons, I always export to OBJ and then I use
PoseRay for the POV export. The POV output by PoseRay is much better and
more practical, IMHO.
