Got bored of my old wallpaper, here's my new one...
The image could use both a better rendering quality and image file
quality, but the first one was too slow and the latter too big for the
group. PNG version can be found at

Really nice! For me, a darker background brings the
image out better. I love the pastel-like colors. Makes
it look a bit like candy.

The PNG covers the latter but as you said the former can be difficult. I
wish you could improve it because the graininess in the darker areas hurts
it.
It looks like you have light sources (I see shadows), despite the fact that
the artifacts look like radiosity artifacts and this would appear to be one
of those scenes that one would use 100% radiosity for. Have you tried toning
down the radiosity quality (in order to get innacurate but as smooth as
possible results) and using large (adaptive) area lights?

The rad quality is pretty low already (Radiosity_Debug from
rad_def.inc). I'm not using area lights, but a simple point light atm.
Perhaps the reflecting finish does also add a bit to the graininess.
I'll try a rad-only version later, thanks for the tip!

Looks good! The best thing here is probably that I don't exactly see the
splines coincide. Although I suspect they do. :-)

Nope, I'm afraid I didn't. It's actually a test scene for an animation
I'm working on, and the splines you see (which are generated by SDL
code, much easier and faster than using a mouse to do it :) will be
paths for flying particles.
Of course I polished it a bit after I realized that it would look nice :)

Thanks! I'm pretty sure they coincide, one example is the purple spline
starting between the upper baby-blue and pink one on the top left.
Normally you have to search for non-coincidences in my random-art images :)
