2D clouds as a textured "plane" (actually a large sphere). The shading idea
I got from Vahur Krouverk's cloud shader #2. I actually started playing
with the idea a while ago, and I just keep coming back to it for some
reason.
Although the cloud illumination effect is there, I'm still not satisfied
with the contrast or the cloud color control. Several other flaws should
become apparent too with a closer look, namely sharp shadow lines, parallel
shadows and the loss of 3D appearance at the horizon where the clouds become
a uniform speckled mass.
Atmosphere is media.
A lot of fun to play with.

Nice! It looks close to what Terragen does. Is that done entirely in POV,
or are you using terragen clouds?
I've been using terragen renders on a sky sphere but that requires pretty
much making a new sky for every scene specific to the lighting of the
scene. Been looking for a way to do it in POV that could be controlled by
the SDL. I'll definitely be checking out your site later!

Peh, I always use media for my skies. Maybe that's why my scenes take so
long to render...
PS. Good job!
