Just a scene I've been working on for a few days, several minutes at a
time. The scene contains one light_source and uses radiosity. I'm not
pleased with the usual media artifacts when trying to simulate
subsurface scattering, so I took the easy path and gave the wax a
texture_map with variable ambient settings.

I thought a candle was an appropriate subject given the time of year we
are in. The arrows pattern was something I just had to try after Alex K.
recently posted one to this group.

Any questions or comments are appreciated~

I really like this. All of the objects are quite realistic.

I'm not sure if sub-surface scattering would have helped very much. It
appears that you found a good solution to that problem.

Somehow, I feel my eye is being drawn to the flame... hehe ;-)

Love that, err, thing, the candle is sitting in.

Looks a bit painted IMHO. Have you tried avoiding the media side
effects (fuzzy shadow, transparent edges) with interior_texture?
