You need to clarify whether you want real-time animation (i.e., showing 
things happening as it happens), or animation from traces. You need to 
clarify what format your trace data is in. Or do you just need to (say) 
demonstrate in a power-point kind of way how a protocol works?

If you're looking for "real-time animation" in the former sense, I'd 
suggest that POV-Ray is probably not the tool you want to use, and that 
collecting that data is likely to be at least as much of the problem as 
getting it on the screen is.

My idea of animating a computer network is as below:
1. I need a help to depict (design) a computer network (lets say in a
classroom).
1.a. This computer network must contain 6 computers connected with one
switch and one server connected to a switch
2. Supposing that this is a wired network, the animation here will take
place only at the transmission of the signal from the server--> switch -->
client computers.

I think that is more clear now.

The description of animating a computer network is as below:

The computers and the other elements of the network have to be simulated by
POVRay.
You asked me: how soon after they send a message do you expect to
see the animation?

Ok, Ok....  Hmmmmm  I was confused too after reading your original posts,
but now I think you're trying to create an educational demonstration video
on how networks work?   Two questions:  1) How much experience do you have
with Pov-Ray?  2) By "simulated by POVRay" are you looking to just create a
video/animation (to show network activity etc with spheres running down a
wire for example) or are you wanting Pov-Ray to also somehow "know" what's
going on in the simulation?

The answers of your questions:
1)My Pov-Ray experience is not enough for this project
2)By "simulated by POVRay" I mean just to generate the objects (computers,
switch) and to create the animation.

I'd try to find pre-made objects as much as possible if I were you....  Also
it's a lot easier if to make "stone-soup" if you start with a pot of water.
In other words, make a start and show us what you've got and maybe (no
guarantees) somebody'll have something that they could contribute.

Do you know how to make a basic room? If you make your own room to start
with, and show it off in the p.b.i section of these newsgroups, then you
might get some real suggestions and might (well, maybe) also get some
contributions i.e. objects.  Do you need furniture?  Do you need windows?
Do you need a door? Do you need a chalkboard?  etc etc
