Well, any suggestions, folks, for a grand project, to be used as sort of
a flag for this group. Of course, we could always make that the IRTC
topic and have Nathan O' Brian do it in a couple of days<G>

Well, I would suggest we try to enter this months IRTC. The current
topic is History and the deadline is April 30. It could be a group
submission (there's no rule against that is there?). Here are my
suggestions
bearing in mind the topic of "History":
1) A wild west scene (maybe the connection of the East-West railroad?)
2) A destruction of Atlantis scene
3) Tearing down of the Berlin Wall
4) Sputnik in Orbit
5) Man landing/stepping onto the moon
6) Apple falling on Newton's head?
7) Lightning striking Franklin's kite
There are many many important historical events we could do. And if we
had several people working on this (I'd say 5+ people, but maybe less) I
think we could make something really great. I would probably even have
a poster made to put on my wall :-)
Well, those are my suggestions. I'd love to hear what people think and
find out who'd be interested in doing something like this. We could
coordinate over ICQ or something like that probably. We have 22 days
until submission deadline, I think that'd be plenty of time, but it
would be nice to have a good start. Anyone up for it? I sure am :-)

Count me in, my first choice is "Destruction of Atlantis", my second choice
is (not in your list) "Destruction of Atlanta"
I feel that "Man landing/stepping onto the moon" will make many entries in
the IRTC (a good reason to avoid it, even if it is a promising idea).
Kyle, will you be the leader on that ?

Railroad...hard. Lots of small, annoying details.
> 2) A destruction of Atlantis scene
echhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
> 3) Tearing down of the Berlin Wall
What the heck would that look like.
> 4) Sputnik in Orbit
Easy. Boring. Maybe, we could have a semitransparent russian flag as a
backdrop...
> 5) Man landing/stepping onto the moon
Hard- men, wrinkles, etc.
> 6) Apple falling on Newton's head?
Silouette...wow, I don't know how to spell that....shadow. With an apple on
the ground.
> 7) Lightning striking Franklin's kite
I like that one...
>

8) Graffiti in a locker or someplace with sentimental value. Stuff like:
"Clarisse and Montag" or something.9) Something prehistoric- mastadons, or
something. Maybe we could use the new hair patch.

Cool, that's makes 3 people so far in on the project:
Myself, Alex Magidow and Philippe Gibone.
BTW, my ICQ # is 2797456
Well I suppose I could lead it up, although I'm not sure if I'm the most
qualified....
I'd say either the Desctruction of Atlantis or the Ben Franklin+Lighting
scene. I think the Atlantis scene would look cooler, but I don't think
we'd have enough time to make the IRTC if we made it very detailed. So,
my vote's for the Ben Frankline scene (I'm very flexible though). Bear
in mind, we need to decide what we're doing soon to allow enough time to
make the IRTC (rendering might take a while). Any comments / complaints
/ suggestions about that?
As soon as we decide on an ideak, I could make a very quick rendering of
a scene (like an artist's sketch). Then we could change it around until
we found a good scene setup, then we could divide it up into different
parts for each person to work on for a few days, then put them together
and have the person w/ the best computer (definately not me) render it.
Then maybe to some other fine tuning, but I think that's basically the
way I'm thinking it would proceed, anyone have any other suggestions?
Anyone else interested in this project?
Topic choices?
This is gonna be cool!

Count me in.
I'd say the first one: the wild west scene. It's one of the more
challenging.

Agree, let's keep the Atlantis for another try (hundreds of ships (air and
sea) flying away from an island with a volcano destroying the main city (I
feel I'm back to my 12 years)

I have Pentium II 450 Mhz

I have a lot of spare time although, I'm kinda bad at this sort of stuff, I
know I missed this month's entry but maybe on the next one I could do
something off in the distance something not prominent for the experience.
