A web forum, and threads where participants HAVE to post their WIPs... a la
CGTalk. Just a little bit more aimed to amateurs...
I'd love that.

A minor added comment:

Tack on zipped-up/ to this URL to reach "all-text.zip" (all the text
files submitted with the images) and to "images-1.zip" and
"images-2.zip" (all the images for this round). Easier to download them
this way rather than downloading them each individually.

Of course, if you just want to look at them on-line rather than
downloading them, ignore my suggestion. ;-)

These zipped files seem to be made available within a day of the close
of the rounds, so it is possible to see them immediately. Obviously,
not the scoring or comments, but at least the images and their
corresponding text files.

Hi all,

while some of the ideas for changing the IRTC are quite interesting, I think
it a bad idea to make things more complicated just now. For reasons unknown
(to me, at least) the results of the last round are still not available,
and there are only two weeks left for the next deadline. Whoever is having
problems here definitely does NOT need MORE work to do. I sincerely hope
that the problems are not too serious ( illness? injury?? ).

On the other hand: this HAD to happen when, after lurking for years, I
finally decided to compete ;-) I really would like to know how far down
the list my entry might appear ...

Have a nice weekend

I have the sneaking feeling that whoever has this task is simply not around.
Does anybody know who exactly is taking care of the IRTC website?

Does anybody from the IRTC ever post replies to inquieries here?

I´m just curious, I don´t know what is the exact connection between Povray
and the IRTC.

Jesse Becker is doing this volunteer job IIRC -

The waiting is killing me too. This is my first round since 2002. I swear
I've been checking the irtc.org page 10 times a day waiting for the results
to get posted.

This sounds familiar to me.
By the way, congratulations for your very nice entry.

So he is. But he explicitly stated in that post that he does NOT do the work
for voting.

Still waiting ...

I *really* wish they did. Damn, this is getting crazy. Having said
that, I sincerely hope all is well with the admin.

Somebody with some standing in the Pov-Ray arena. Someone that knows what a
good image is depending on its artistic merit, conceptual merit, and
technical merit. Crap image > get rid. Something going for it > keep. Simple
really.

had to view all the images and make a choice to filter out

Why not?

Also, if you filter out poor images, where do you draw the

...And they get comments that will seriously make them *better* in their

Not a problem, so let's do it. :o)

Did you mean: http://exether.free.fr/irtc/index.php?sub=top10&lang=en> ?

This has got to be a 'MUST DO'.
