Please remember the "|" was used as the "flashing cursor" (well, the
editing cursor)

So, it seems that the problem is at least real for you too, Stephen.
(the catch is "normal { bumps" get deleted )

Could you please also states your Windows version ?
(32/64 bits, XP/2008/Vista/7/8, or other)
