Povray 3.6.2 and 3.7 installs into two different folders: the basic program
files to the default or to a supplied one, and the "editable" files into the
users' my_document/povray/etc folder. I reckon this is mainly because of Win 7
logic. Perhaps this suits well for many users, however, it can be a nuisance,
too. The variable %installdir% is constantly glued to the
my_document/povray/v3.7/etc folder. Let it be the default. May I suggest a
command line option for the advanced users, e.g.:

d:\povray37\pvengine.exe  /installdir=d:\povray37

When using this, the program forgets everything about my documents and looks for
its components and ini files only in the given folder. This would work in the
case of a flashdrive installation, too.
