Hi all..
I've spend some time porting 3.5c and the MPI patch for windows platform
using MinGW wich means it runs without any special runtimes on an win32
platform,
and now i have managed to do distributed rendering using MPI on 8 Windows
2000 servers with good performance.
Very soon i will post a link to a page with a beginning tutorial and the
binaries.
See my entry at povbench..

Cheers..

I hope you are aware that POV-Ray 3.5 is nearly 3 years old and POV-Ray
3.6.1 has been around for a long time and compiles with MinGW without
any modifications.

Ofcourse, :) i run 3.6.1 standalone and that compiles without any problems
under mingw, but the MPI patch was made for 3.5c source and i have no
programming experince with MPI neither with povray.
There are a lot of source changes in the code parts where the MPI is used
and i tried to get it working on the 3.6.1 with constant functionality
failures (code compiles and i got an binary that fails when starting with
MPI)...
If times is given me i will look deeper to get the MPI working for the 3.6.1
source but for now i'm pleased with the 3.5c binary.

Hello Hernik:
How is everythig.
already has its infrastructure set. MPI for POVRAY will work for me like a
charm.
The latest version I found of MPI for POVRAY was meant for version 3.1g.
Where can I find a newer one, to start testing?
develop a MPI patch for the latest version of POVRAY.
Feel free to contact me at ein### [at] cecalculave
Thanks.
