As mentioned the beta 1 experation date has come and gone and
I wanted to ask if someone knew when the next beta for windows
was coming out (i.e. if I should wait a little while to download
the newest and greatest or if I should download the beta 2 version
which is alread many weeks old)?

Anyone have any information on this topic?

Hi Robert,

Are you sure you are talking about POV-Ray ?
POV-Ray version 1 is a very old version, still I don't think it was ever called beta.
As well as that, I don't think there ever was a time limit for POV-Ray.

So my guess is you're mistaking POV-Ray with a Shareware product with a name similar
to POV-Ray or which is compatible with POV-Ray for some export and/or import facility.
In this case, you'd better check up the actual name of your application and get in
touch with the author himself.
Expiration dates on shareware are a protection of the author's rights. Infringing this
protection is illegal and can be brought to court.

Best of luck with your search, but keep it legal please.
Al.

Uh.. he probably means pov-ray _3.1_ beta 1. Or he might have an old copy of
Pov-ray 3.0, Beta 1.

I can't say when. Might be next week, might be next month (though
in the next few weeks is more likely.)

Maybe the BETTER question would be WHEN does the beta 2 for
windows expire?

Character counts! Who would you trust to lead your country:

William Wallace (a man who gave his life to ensure
freedom for his countrymen)

or

Bill Clinton (a man who has taken the lives of his
countrymen to preserve his freedom)?

Office, seduced a 21-year-old White House intern, dropped his trousers
before a lowly state employee, illegally took money from Chinese
communist donors, entertained known criminals, drug dealers, and arms
smugglers at private White House gatherings, hid subpoenaed documents in

the living quarters of the White House, rented out the Lincoln bedroom,
illegally requisitioned the private FBI files of 900 Republicans,
misused the IRS and the FBI to attack political enemies, used
taxpayer-paid lawyers and aides to defend himself against charges of
sexual misconduct, was criminally involved in the looting of a bank in
Arkansas, lied under oath, shredded documents, castrated a buddy,
suborned perjury, tampered with witnesses, and obstructed justice,

History students know full well that similar opinions have existed
before. The circumstances paralleled those of today. For example:

A country enjoying a booming economy was led by someone whose
ethical and legal malfeasance was already well known. The economic

transgressions, until it was too late. It was all looked at as

else he claimed he was doing for the country.

         It happened in the 1930s.
         In Germany. Under Adolph Hitler.

"He who is void of virtuous attachments in private life is, or very soon

will be, void of all regard for his country." Samuel Adams

You go to Library 16 of the POV-Ray Forum on Compuserve and
download it!!! Of course if you don't have a Compuserve account
that you will have to make buddy buddy with someone who does.
