Povray 3.5 is only 1 month old, and there is already so much patches!!!
At this rate, even starting to think about 4.0 is a lost of time: by the
time the first decision is made, there would be a huge amount of patches...

Patches ...
I don't like patches so much, cause they interfere in a well tested system.
Then often you should have test on the whole system to be shure it works.
So I decided to make an "Add-On". It does not manipulate anything in
POV 3.5 - just takes it as an Employee ...
So you can take This Add-On as YOUR employee.

There is only 6 patches but multiplied by categorization.
I have list of about ten patches to do but I'm limited becouse can't setup my
favourite enviroment at home. I wonder if I should add place to my site where
people could add requests and own plans.

I don't have Windows XP. I have a few admins and each one login for his tasks.
I don't want each user to be logged all the time. I don't want to not use
power when nobody is logged.

will agent start automatically ?

can't it validate image if it is correct ?

Can you distribute it as zip ? Have I really to start exe to get txt ?

That's a useful feature.

I don't mean intentional unplugging but crash of computer or kill from other
user.

isn't SMPOV.exe kind of "unknownn exe" ?

You use programming tool according to its license but I suppose if you have it
legal you distribute it legal.

Why ? With low priority and with save settings on system...
My database-server has 2 GB RAM, 2 procs, >1GHz only 4% of power used for
database. If I can use it safe why not ? The question is: can I use it safe ?

Isn't that only calls to runtime library ?

Maybe my last comment was not qualified. I did not see those patches before.
Now I've looked up the page and I think maybe these patches are necessary.
To ABX: Can I get a SP 1 when its ready :-) ?

Theo, just checking, but this will work on a dual-processor, single, PC
correct? That would be great.

The first time I looked at it, there were only three. And that was not

That would be a good idea, avoiding people to go in a somehow similar
direction with not-compatible ideas.
Then you would get a tons of non-programmers pushing for one or another
on your agenda!
Soon, opposite supporters will make riot and kidnap free programmers.

No, of course not.
It would just make the work of povteam more difficult if the concepts
are moving too much.
I believe there will be a high number of patches right after the source
code, and then things will calm down. Then it will be time...
