I am currently running a DJGPP compile of POV 3.5, and apart from disabling
the fancy text interface (rather than going to the trouble of debugging)
I've had no problems with it (including support for long file names and full
graphics previews).

It's clear to me that you haven't read the book "Fun with Microsoft

how exactly would that help anyone running povray....

The effect of having a clustering OS is that you effectively see the whole
cluster is if it was one computer with several processors. Thus, you just run
several instances of povray as if you were in a computer with several
processors. No telnet/ssh/whatever needed, no complicated distribution
scripts needed. Just run povray and that's it. The system will automatically
distribute the different instances among the different computers.

And how it share radiosity file when two instances render the same scene on

Will be your settings available in standard distribution of sources ?

Whatever the solution is, it's no different whether you are using
a clustering OS or not. The clustering OS just makes it easier to share
common data.

The generic linux sources should compile fairly straightforward with
DJGPP, that's what it is for...

You probably noticed 3.5 sources are not released yet. Unix generic sources
for 3.1g are almost ready for djgpp. Have you any problem with it? Perhaps
some help You can find via http://news.povray.org/search/?s=djgpp
