Hello everybody. For the moment I use the evaluation version of Windows .net
RC2 (yes, it is a weird choice, but it was my only choice to get an
authorized and legal copy of Windows).
I try to install povray (3.5 and 3.1g) but I always have he same problem.
The installer refuses to do its job because I do not have the right version
of comctl32.dll. Problem, my version seems to be too new (I cannot use the
older version downloaded on Microsoft site, the microsoft installer refuse
saying that i do not need this update).
Is it possible to force the install ? (with a command switch or other
thing).
Thank for your attention.

I don't know about the behaviours of this .net rc2, but did you try to use
the control panel's add/remove program thing? I'm running win2k advanced
server here and I have to do it that way, otherwise i won't be able to
install most software.

Thank you very much !
It is the first time I see this behaviour. It is weird, because all the
other installs work flawlessly.
It works now, thank !

Can you tell me (a) where comctl32.dll is stored on your PC, and (b) what its
actual version is (right-click on it under explorer and select 'properties' and
then 'version').

Has something to do with the terminal server services I think. I had the
same problem on W2K server
