Heya, all..
For some strange reason, I have yet to find any patch that works
correctly with v3.1e For various reasons, they all barf and fail to
run. For example, SuperPatch and Dispersion complain about "wrong
editor DLL version," whereas WYZPOV, IsoSurface, and TMPOV proclaim that
they "cannot find Home entry in registry or WIN.INI." Neither of these
accusations are true; the editor is fine, and the Home entry is in both
the registry and the win.ini file. Suspecting something awry with the
original installation, I uninstalled and re-installed POV from scratch,
but to no effect; the official POV works, but no patches do. Has anyone
run across this or a similar problem, or has my copy of POV become
infused with an egocentric, monopolistic view of society?

From what I glean from the thread, you would need the dlls from an older
version of POV to do what's described. And no, I don't have any spares lying
around. What's the solution in that case? I can find no place which has a
pre-3.1 version available for download..

At ftp://povray.org in the pub directory and then into the povray
directory you will the current version files and a link to
several mirror sites around the world that have copies of both
the current version as well as many have older outdated versions
available as well. Might take a little searching but I run into
them on a regular basis so they are not at all rare. Some of the
shareware super sites that don't maintain their collections actively
also have been known to carry older versions of the files.

You might get lucky and find one available at the link below:
ftp://ftp.cdrom.com:/pub/povray/

All you need is in <ftp://povray.org/pub/povray/Old-Versions/>, starting
from 3.0 to 3.1d.
