Hi,
I have just started playing with height fields. I found the
"terrain maker" program, which I must say is fantastic.
For some reason, POV crashes when rendering most of the
height fields that I create. Some resolutions won't crash on
the same .pov and height field file.
I am using POV that includes Pvengine.exe dated 9/10/96.
Has anyone seen or solved this problem?

I've had this happen in the Linux version of POV-Ray (3.02).
The workaround seems to be in reducing the size of the image file
used for the height_field.
At any rate, I don't think the problem has anything to do with
Terrain Maker specifically.

I seem to get the HF crashes when I set the camera angle higher than 45
degrees and look down on my HF. Kinda strange.

Hi,
It is v1.1, from 1994. Note that the first screen you see
when it examines the VGA driver says "1.0", but the main
screen says "1.1".
It's a great program, but I'm a little frustrated that POV
crashes on some of the terrains I generate.

I'm afraid can't help you there. But I asked, 'cause it's bound to
have a new release soon, according to the webpage.
