I am currently designing a camera position animator utility for povray.
Among the items
which I have proposed for it are: path type, such as line, ellipse, spiral,
helix, or user
designed; position incremented by either clock or frame; looping; the
camera look-at,
etc. It will be an MSDOS program which will output an include file to be
used in the
scene file with the camera position and other camera variables selectable
with C case
statements for the varying clock or frame keywords. This allows povray to
create
the scenes with anything tied specifically to the clock or frame keywords.
 Since it's
an include file, it can be used on the other supported platforms. Thus as
a simple
example, you could make a rolling ball which can be viewed from various
camera
locations. (I'm using MSDOS since that will run with both win3.1 and
win95, and
because I haven't had time yet to get fluent in win32 programming.)
Since povray.org may have to shut down soon, I though I'd pass this
along for those
of you who would like to pass on some helpful suggestions on features to
include. I
probably will begin the design and writing process within a week or two,
about mid May.

(sorry about the capitals in the subject line)
I meant to say that the program will output an include file of C style
switch and case statements for the various camera postions.
