Hi,
Have just started looking at MPOV but any Render commands fail with the
message "Init Error: Failed to chdir to '/Applications/2D
path."
I am new to POVRay/MPOVRay but should mention POVRay runs OK.
Any suggestions?

This indicates that you are using the Mach-O version.
Simply remove '∞' from your folder name and it will work.
Or use the Carbon version which will run like POVRay.
