Interesting, some of the pictures indicate problems (the line crossings 
being more intensive than the lines for example and the pattern is also 
repeating) but deinitely worth trying.  The 'future enhancements' list 
at the end is also worth reading. If someone has tested it and has some 
comments i'd be interested.

Reminds me of one of my suggestions: "crackle metric infinite"

Does your pattern have a way to control the extremes of aspect ratio?
That is, can one specify that the longest dimension of each block must 
be no more than ___ times the shortest?
