Apparently this is the week for the linux editor releases :)
You will find the latest release of Wxpyvon : A linux editor for POVRAY.
Syntax highlighting and word completion now work fine.
It has been tested on a Mandriva 2008 and Ubuntu 7.10
Of course, as always, all your comments are welcome.
You will find it here :
http://fabienhenon.free.fr/wxpyvon/
(A new account for sourceforge is being created)
Happy testing !
Fabien

But now you left out the icon files :)
And as an aside, after I close the editor Python keeps running at full blast

I have downloaded and installed the file on another computer, and all the icons
are displayed. Do you start wxpyvon from the extracted directoy (wxpyvon_0.9) ?

Do you mean Povray runs at full blast ?
yes I will include a POVRAY rendering stopped when the user stops the editor.

No, I mean Python. Which ever way I start wxpyvon after closing it Python
keeps running in the background pushing the core to 100%.

There must be a missing library dealing with PNG in your system.
What distro do you have ?
I'll try a version with jpg (or the default) files type, instead of png.

In a terminal, could you type
ps aux | grep python
and tell me the output ?

I am donwloading suse 10.3 x86_64. I am going to install it on my spare
partition to (try to) find out what goes wrong with the icons.

Did you type this as python was running full blast (just after you close wxpyvon
?) ?
Apparently, there is no python program running

To make a quick try, I downloaded openSUSE-10.3-GM-KDE-Live-i386.iso : I am not
home and I did not want suse to break my current grub settings
While being on the live cd, I installed wxpython, povray and ... it works.
I have all the icons, and python seems to work OK.
As your version is the 64 bit, and the live CD I tried is 32 bit, there may a
difference there.
I just wondered if anyone else having a suse 64 bit has the same problem as you
do.
I have Kubuntu 7.10 64 bit on a partition and it works fine on it.
Maybe un-installing and reinstalling wxpython might help.
