Does anyone know of a nice mesh editing tool, written either in Java or
natively for Linux under X?

If not, and assuming I'm up to the challenge of coding one (which I
doubt), does anyone other than me want one?

Blender (http://www.blender3d.org) works nice for me to create meshes for
Pov. It has a .ObJ export module that can be converted to Pov under Linux
with ppmodeller. (Haven't got a URL for that, drop me a mail if you want it
- I think its site is down, haven't checked recently).

Windows.... boohoohoo....

My little mistake : K-3D (i found other project named K3D).
Look here : < http://k3d.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/wiki/Plugins#POV_Plugins >
Anyway, it supports well known Wavefront OBJ fileformat. :)
