i have the sources downloaded from the homepage of Nathan Kopp and
povray.org
but i think i'm to stupid to rewrite the makefile

compiler , lib , and needet files are checked OK

could somebody help me in doing that work .

I am the maintainer of the site Ken referenced in his response and was
just  told of the link being broken.  I have fixed the links, so if you
had trouble, you should be ok now.  You can also download the files
through ftp:  ftp.warmann.com/pub/pov, using an anonymous login.  The
problem with the UVPOV files and linux is that even when you get them to
compile, they don't work properly as-is.  I had to modify the source
code a bit to get the UV-Mapping stuff to work with triangle meshes,
otherwise, each triangle takes longer and longer to parse until you
would probably end up waiting all week to just get one of them digested.
