Okay, now that's officially frustrating, because /this/ problem had
seemed to have /somehow/ solved itself as suddenly as it had appeared. I
can't reproduce it on Travis CI (where I had first seen it), nor here on
my machine; that means I can't diagnose nor fix it.

If you have any sufficient Unix knowledge, I'd be grateful if you could
dig into this matter, figure out why it's going wrong on your system,
and let me know what you find.
