After viewing Thomas de Groot's "On the streets...," and his insistence that his
gamma settings were correct, I decided to revisit my monitor's gamma settings.
I created a set of 10 gamma test images to test not only gray scales, but the
RGB channels. I'm now convinced that cross-checking the color channels yields
a better calibration than just gray scale alone. I also came away with a
greater appreciation of just how non-linear our visual perception is.
The scene file is intended to be run in animation mode, with Final_Frame=10; a
sample command line is included with the scene file.
