It looks useful, but it looks like a full material manager instead of
just textures.

It's unclear from the first screenshot, how do you make a color map.
  Also the normal section is lacking a slope_map (making a slope_map
graphically would be a lot easier than just entering numbers).

This looks very nice - how stable are the betas? Does previewing work yet? I
presume I should download and install the full beta 2 and then replace
whatever with the beta 3 exe.

  Nope. They have been in the official povray for long time (if I don't
remember completely wrong, they were already in povray 2.2).

Oops. I was thinking of slope dependant textures.

BTW is "oops" a universal word (like "aargh") or do people of different
languages use a different word?
